We bake premium 6 oz cookies that are radically inclusive—they are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free, and some are also vegan. We use only premium ingredients, sourced as ethically as possible.

 

The foundation of Chunki Monki Cookie Co. was laid not in a laboratory, but at a kitchen table. Our founder's journey began with a shift from baking for joy to baking for safety.

 

Tracy will never forget the moment she had just fed her firstborn son his first bottle of formula, and he immediately went into anaphylactic shock. On the other side of the world at very nearly the same time, Carla was in a hospital where no one spoke English and was trying to figure out why her tiny daughter could not keep any food down. Without knowing each other yet, we had both entered the same wild world and exclusive club of Parents of Children with Severe Food Allergies.

 

This was the 1990s, before allergen awareness, before grocery aisles full of options, and before people understood cross-contamination. We learned through trial and error how to keep our children safe while still letting them experience joy around food. While Tracy found ways to make our favorite foods without dairy, Carla figured out how to blend flours to make gluten-free baked goods and bread.

 

We would then spend more than two decades navigating our children’s gluten intolerance and severe dairy allergies. What started as survival became a passion—and eventually became Chunki Monki Cookie Co. Today, we create allergen-free cookies and baked goods that are indulgent, nostalgic, and worth sharing. Our mission is simple: everyone at the table deserves to feel included.

 

For families navigating food allergies, inclusion matters. It means a child can eat delicious cookies at the party instead of bringing something separate from home. It means more parties, more holidays, and more tables where everyone can eat the same thing, and no one has to be excluded.

 

We’ve come a long way from those frantic years of early allergy navigation. Today, we’re not in a race for survival, but we are aiming to build a place where everyone is safe and welcome at the table.
